Government killed 27 LTTErs

Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara says 27 terrorists have been killed in confrontations with the Security Forces in Vavuniya, Muhamalai, Mannar and Weli Oya during the past 24 hours. Many dead bodies of terrorists and their arms and ammunition have been found in subsequent search operations.

The Troops have recovered one hundred anti-personal mines and three thousand bullets hidden on Batticaloa-Wakerai road.

It has also been reported that a Sub Inspector and another policeman have succumbed to their injuries in a terrorist clay-more mine bomb explosion in Vavuniya around 7.50 this morning.

Another Policeman injured in a claymore explosion , targeting police personnel on road patrol north of Madu Junction in Mannar, is receiving treatment at the Anuradhapura hospital.
