LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran lives in bunker 30 feet below the ground, indicates report
posted by Editor at 12:39 AMBottom Line reported that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) chief Velupillai Prabhakaran lives in a sprawling air-conditioned bunker complex located 30 feet below the ground, and comes up to the surface only at night to avoid detection, according to Rediff. The report has a sketch of the alleged bunker.
Prabhakaran’s extravagant underground bunker constructed as per his instructions and equipped with power generators is divided into two sectors. It has a tunnel which connects to a similar bunker complex, and his room is tucked away in the lowermost floor with two exits, the sketch shows. "From a powerful radio set, Prabhakaran gives instruction to his field commanders though he himself would not talk directly, and asks his confidante to do the talking. If he thinks that communications are not secure, he would insist on communicating through satellite phones at night," it said. "Three doctors attend to Prabhakaran and they continuously monitor his health conditions as he suffers from hypertension. His blood pressure is checked twice during the day," it said.
