LTTE terrorists explode Electrical transformer in Mount Lavinia

LTTE terrorists with the intention of sabotaging the Independence Day celebrations this morning (February 4) exploded an electric transformer using an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) down the Wijesriwardana Mawatha in Mount Lavinia.
According to the police sources, the explosion has taken place around 6.05.a.m. The transformer has been destroyed and several civilian houses sustained damages due to the explosion, the sources added.
A search operation has been launched in the area.
