A massive attack on a large sea tiger base
posted by Editor at 12:39 AMThe air force has launched a massive attack on a large sea tiger base located on the coastal belt west of Kilinochchi.
The SLAF media spokesman Wing Commander Andrew Wijesuriya said aerial attack on the base, nine kilometers south of Yakthuduwa, around 8.15 this morning has been extremely successful. The surface and air information has confirmed that there were large number of Tiger suicide boats and supply vessels berthed at the base.
Army spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara says 14 LTTE carders were killed in clashes in Mannar and Vavuniya yesterday.
The navy has been successful in detecting 20 kilogrammes C-4 type explosives in Kerawalapitiya Wattala. He further says 23 detonators and two rounds of ammunitions were also found buried.
