Postal votes on 21st

Postal Voting in the local government election for the Batticaloa District will take place on the 21st and 22nd of this month.

Assistant Election Commissioner S.Sudakaran says 934 out of 1114 persons applied for postal voting are eligible to vote. Postal Ballets and official poll cards relating to the Batticaloa District local government election will be released on next Friday.

Local Government elections for nine Pradeshiya Sabhas in the Batticaloa District and for the Batticaloa Municipal Council will be held on the 10th of next month.
The Assistant Election Commissioner also says voters who do not have any acceptable form of identity could obtain a special Identification card from the respective Grama Niladharies.
