SC reinstates status quo of Maj. Gen. Pannipitiya

The Supreme Court directed that status quo of former Commander of the Security Forces (East ) Maj. Gen. Parakrama Pannipitiya regarding his present residence at Summit Flat will remain. Maj. Gen. Pannipitiya filed a fundamental rights petition challenging his transfer from the post of Commander of Security Forces (East) and order asking him to vacate his present staff quarters at Summit Flats and seeking permission to allow him to retain the vehicles and escorts and other entitlements.
