The private bus owners association says a special security programme has been implemented to ensure the security of bus commuters.
In a media briefing held in Colombo today chairman of the association Gemunu Wijerathne said the passengers are prohibited from placing their baggage on racks of the bus. The driver and the conductor of a bus should make a thorough check before starting their turn.
Mr.Wijerathne also called for the support of commuters to carryout this programme effectively. He also pointed out the need to revise office time as a remedy to ease the rush during this period.
