Troops recover an assortment of mines

The Army conducted a search operation in the VAVUNIYA and MANNAR area recovered a haul of LTTE terrorist anti personnel mines, Claymore mines and booby traps in the CHETTUKKULAMA area, VAVUNIYA and PERIYAPANDIVIRCHCHAN area in MANNAR.
Troops in the CHETTUKKULAMA area, VAVUNIYA recovered 123 Anti- personnel mines and 5 Claymore mines .
Meanwhile Army Engineers in a search operation conducted in the PERIYAPANCDIVIRICHCHAN, MANNAR area, also recovered eight Anti- personnel Mines and two Booby traps .
