Troops uncover more terror weapons in the East

Sri Lanka Security forces continuing on search operations in the Eastern Province yesterday (February 24) uncovered a large stock of weapons that had been brought to the area by LTTE terrorists.
At Serunuwara in Trincomalee, Police acting on information provided by the State Intelligence Service (SIS), unearthed 3 explosive jackets worn by suicide bombers, 2500 ammunition used for Multi Purpose Machine Guns, 260 ammunition used for 9mm pistols, 250 ammunition used for T-56 riffles , 2 rocket propeller grenades (RPG) and 4 kg of C-4 high explosives last evening.
Separately, Sri Lanka army soldiers acting on civilian information uncovered one T-56 riffle along with a magazine and 6 rounds from Mavadivembu area in Batticaloa last morning. In addition, troops conducting search operations in the Aliyaodai in Batticaloa found one claymore mine along with some weapon accessories last evening.
