11 terrorists killed and explosives recovered from Mannar area

MANNAR: A total of eleven (11) LTTE terrorists were killed in confrontations with Troops on Thursday (13) in the MANNAR sector.
Six of them were killed in the VANNANKULAM area in the evening around 5.30, three (03) in the NADUNKANDAL area around 5.45 in the evening, and one each in KARUKKULAM and ILLANIVAN areas of MANNAR at 2.45 in the afternoon and 10.40 in the morning.
A soldier was also reported injured in another confrontation in the PERIYAKULAM area, MANNAR on Thursday (13) at 11.00 in the morning.
Troops recovered Claymore mines and Anti -personnel minesfrom the VENNAKKUKAM area, MANNAR in the evening around 4.00. Meanwhile, a soldier was reported injured in the JANAKAPURA area, WELIOYA during operations on Thursday (13) in the evening around 4.45.
LTTE terrorist killed in Nagarkovil \One LTTE terrorist was reported killed when Troops launched an attack in the NAGARKOVIL area, JAFFNA in the evening on Thursday (13) around 3.50.
