Army recovers 274 anti- personnel mines, one terrorist killed & military hardware recovered

: In the afternoon around 12.10 on Sunday (09) a terrorist was killed during an attack launched by the Army in the JANAKAPURA area, WELIOYA while a soldier was injured during a confrontation with terrorists in the ANDANKULAM area in the afternoon around 3.10.
The items belonging to the terrorists given below were also recovered from the ANDANKULAM area, WELIOYA by Troops when conducting a search operation by the Army in the morning around 10.00.It includes 81mm mortar bombs,60mm mortar bombs and
Hand grenades .
Meanwhile 274 anti- personnel mines belonging to the terrorists were recovered from the KOKKUTHUDUWAI AREA, WELIOYA by the Army in a search operations conducted by Troops during the past 48 hours .
Troops also recovered a 'trailer' on Sunday (09) used by the LTTE terrorists for transporting 120mm mortar bombs from the "Tractor junction" area, BATTICALOA in the evening around 5.40.
