EC brings the attention of relevant laws of the elections.

The Elections Commissioner brings the attention of relevant sections on provisions mentioned in the constitution regarding the elections.
According to the 13th amendment to the constitution, promotion or prevention of the selection of a candidate, a political party or an independent group is prohibited. The elections chief points out the use of moveable and immovable properties belonging to the government or any other state institution for election activities is also prohibited.
This ban is applicable to the time period of the forthcoming provincial council elections in the eastern province. This ban is valid till the date on which the election results are issued beginning from the 13th of this month.
According to the 13th amendment promotions and transfers in the government or other state institutions cannot be made. Holding Interviews to make new recruitments is also prohibited. It is more appropriate to refrain from holding state backed mobile services, exhibitions and festivals during this period. The elections commissioner has notified Ministerial secretaries to inform heads of state institutions in this connection.
