Energy minister checks construction works of Norochcholai coal power plant

Construction work of the Norachcholai coal power plant progresses successfully as it passes eight months since its commencement.
Civil engineering activities pertaining to initial constructions have already concluded. Ground preparations for the construction of the main plant is now in its final stage. Minister W.D.J. Senevirathna toured the construction site to view its progress.
He said even though the first stage of the construction was due to conclude in 2011 under the directions of the President it will now end in July 2010.
The Norachcholai power plant will complete constructions in 2014 and contribute 900 megawatts to the national grid.
