Government decided to import fifteen train engines

Fifteen more train engines are to be imported. General Manager of Railway Services Dr. Lalithasiri Gunaruwan says the tender applications regarding this are now being called and the opening of tender applications will be carried out on next month.
The government has taken various measures to upgrade the railway services. Out of the 100 passenger compartments imported most of the compartments have been added for the travelling. New compartments will be added for the intercity railway services during the next month. The signal system of the railway services are also to be updated.
The General Manager said all these measures would be carried out before the end of this year.
