Heavy clashes reported in Mannar; Eight LTTE bunkers destroyed

The Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) says army has destroyed 8 LTTE bunkers in the Ilanthivan area, on the Mannar front this morning (March 10).
According to MCNS sources, troops have launched a surprise attack around 4.30 in the morning at the LTTE bunker line. Ground sources have declared that at least 10 terrorists were killed in this confrontation. Also, 3 soldiers were killed and 12 suffered injuries, in this incident, the sources added.
Limited operations are being continued.
