LTTE targets innocent civilians - Wellawatta

The defence sources say the LTTE's target is to kill innocent civilans through their bombs.Commeting views on today's bomb in Wellawatta the sources said the LTTE want to make a blood bath in peaceful areas to halt defence operations in North.

LTTE terrorists have triggered-off an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Wellawatte around 6.50 a.m. today.It is believed that the bomb had been hidden inside a concrete pot along the
Galle road opposite the Roxy cinema in Wellawatta, defence official said. According to the initial information, a civilian was killed and six others received injuries due to this explosion.
The victims were rushed to the Teaching Hospital - Kalubowila reports and four 
school children are among them, the sources further said.

Two of the victims are the students (17) of St. Pauls girls school in Millagiriya while another two are the students (16) of St. Mary's school.

One of the school girls who has been admitted to the Kalubowila teaching 
hospital is in serious condition, hospital sources said.
