Nuwara Eliya experience ice rain

Nuwara-Eliya district has been experiencing torrential rains over the past three weeks and at some places it had rained ice.
Labukela, Kudaoya, Mahagastota, Nanuoya and Abewela had experienced ice rains and in the vicinity of Nuwara-Eliya on the plains ice cubes could be seen during the past few days.
According people, a thick fog with coldness had also caused problems to people living in Nuwara-Eliya and this weather condition could affect the festive season in Nuwara-Eliya. As the rain has caused great destruction to vegetable, potato and flower growers the prices of vegetables have gone down.
