Senior Journalist J.S.Tissanayagam under Police custody

Senior Journalist J.S.Tissanayagam who was arrested by the Terrorist Investigation Department [TID] is now being held under detention orders.
His news team includes a Vedio Cameraman, a still photographer also arrested by the police. The arrest of J. S Tissainayagam, freelance journalist, seems to be a another blow to freedom of expression in this country, said local media activists.Tissainayagam who works for ‘outreachsl.com a news website, and as a columnist for a mainstream weekly, was placed under arrest by the TID (Terrorism Investigation Division) ostensibly to probe involvement in terrorism related activities.
