SL mission in Singapore focuses fraud malpractices relating to the agents

Sri Lankan Mission in Singapore has focused on fraud malpractices relating to the agents giving false promises in education and employment opportunities taking ransom amount. It was revealed that the Sri Lankans who were given false promises by fraudulent agents faced lot of hardships in Singapore. The Foreign Affairs Ministry said the Sri Lankans who have gone to Singapore through these agents were without food, clothing and basic needs.
Further some Sri Lankans who over stayed were penalised by the Singapore government. The Sri Lankan Embassy made arrangements to bring back these Sri Lankans. The government cautioned the Sri Lankan public on the fraudulent agents since the Sri Lankans who travel through these agents are found to be on the rise in Sri Lanka.
