Special programme for clear roads in the Central province

The Road Development Authority has implemented a special programme in the Central province to clear roads if they are blocked by land slides due to prevailing adverse weather conditions. Provincial engineer of Badulla D.M. Dayarathne speaking to media and said a round the clock service is now in place in this condition.
The public could inform the authority on such incidents . The met department forecasts the prevailing rainy weather will continue in the next few days.
Meteorologist Nandalal Peiris says the highest rain fall of 106 point 6 millimetres was reported from Kurunegala. The Badulla and Bandarawela areas also experienced heavy downpours today.
