Ten terrorists killed in Vavuniya

Three of the Ten terrorists killed in the VAVUNIYA AREA were killed during confrontations with Troops in the KARAMPEKULAM AREA on Saturday (08).
A soldier was also injured in a confrontation with LTTE terrorists on Saturday (08) in the morning around 11.15 in the KARAMPEKULAM AREA , VAVUNIYA while another soldier was also reported injured in the same area around 4.40 in the evening.
Two terrorists were reported killed during a confrontation with Troops in the UDAYAHATHANKULAM AREA, VAVUNIYA on Saturday (08) in the afternoon around 12.45 while a soldier was killed and another were reported injured during a confrontation with the terrorists in the morning around 10.00.
Meanwhile the Army recovered Claymore mines ,Hand grenades,T56 live rounds in a search operation conducted in the KOVILMODDAI AREA, VAVUNIYA in the morning between 9.00 and 12.00 noon which included a 7.5 kg claymore mine and a large stock of food and essential items. Sources from VAVUNIYA said five of the terrorists were killed in confrontations with terrorists on Saturday (08). Four of them were killed during a fierce confrontation with Troops in the morning around 8.45 in the PALAIMODDAI area and another was killed in the PERIYAVALANKADDUKULAM AREA in the morning around 7.15.
Meanwhile, a soldier was killed during a confrontation with around 9.00. in SULAINAMARADAMADU .
In MANNAR two female terrorists were killed on Saturday (08) around 8.05 in the morning during a confrontation with Troops . while a soldier was reported killed in ADAMPAN on the same day at 5.15 in the evening.
The defence sources said a female terrorist was killed during a confrontation with Troops in the PALLAIKULI AREA, MANNAR on Saturday (08 ) in the morning at 7.45.The troops recovered Hand grenades ,60mm mortar bombs and Anti- personnel mines in a search operation conducted in the same area in the afternoon around 2.00 .
