Timely Detection Foils LTTE Explosion

One more disaster planned by the LTTE was averted due to timely detection of a claymore mine laid by the terrorists in the general area of PAVAKKODDICHENAI, BATTICALOA Saturday (08) morning around 11.00 a.m..
The claymore mine had been laid beside the road, probably waiting for an anticipated target, when Special Task Force (STF) personnel patrolling the area recovered it.
Flexible wire and one 9-V battery were also found during subsequent search operations in the vicinity.
