Traders sell outdated medicine
posted by Editor at 12:56 AMSecretary to the Ministry of Trade R.M.K. Ratnayake says information has been received regarding traders who sell medicine, of which date of expiry had lapsed.
He points out that drugs of which dates of expiry were to lapse within three months , could be imported at a cheaper cost. By the time, these medicines were cleared from the ports, the dates of expiry may have lapsed. Patients who use such adulterated drugs may experience harmful results.
The Secretary says a special gazette notification will be issued in this regard with the co-operation of the Ministry of Health.
