Two Police personnel injured in claymore mine explosion- Madukanda

LTTE terrorists triggered off a claymore mine this morning (March 5) at Madukanda, injuring two police personnel who were engaged in a route patrol along the Vavuniya - Kebithigollewa main road, Madukanda Police said.

According to police, the claymore was triggered at around 7a.m. Latest reports received said that, two claymore mines were tripped to explode simultaneously which has also damaged a high tension, power distribution line.

The injured were rushed to the general hospital at Vavuniya. Police and Army troops are conducting search operations in the area, Madukanda Police sources said.
