6 terrorists killed in clashes - Mannar

Four terrorists were killed this morning (April 20) when troops attacked a column of LTTE with heavy mortar fire as troops spotted an LTTE attempt to breach the SLA forwards defences in general area Malikaittidal, East of Thirukethiswaram in Mannar.
According to reports received, troops have engaged heavy mortar and artillery at the observed LTTE positions, at 10.40a.m. Ground troops confirmed the LTTE losses citing intercepted LTTE communication.
Meanwhile, 2 more terrorists were reported killed in the same area by SLA snipers at around 11.40a.m.
Troops have also recovered 05 anti personnel mines (AP) during a search operation conducted in general area Veppankulama, at around 3.30p.m.
