ACF goes to International court against SL Govt.
posted by Editor at 10:14 AM(Lanka-e-News, ) The French humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger (ACF) is seeking justice for its 17 local staff savagely killed in Mutur in August in 2006. The organization has already withdrawn from Sri Lanka.
Paris based ACF had lost confidence in the Sri Lankan judicial system regarding the conduct of the Mutur case and therefore was now requesting for an investigation process to get at the truth and for the prosecution of the culprits, according to its spokes person.
ACF would not return to the country in the foreseeable future and its return depend ed on the outcome of the investigation into the Mutur massacre she said.
The presence of the international independent group of eminent persons (IIGEP) provided the only guarantee of the investigation maintaining international standards and norms she said.
ACF left the country closing its Colombo office on March 31 was coincided with the decision taken by the IIGEP to withdraw from Sri Lanka.
