Army continues offensives in the Welioya area

Three terrorists were killed and another was injured when the Army launched a fierce attack and captured a LTTE bunker line in the KOKKUTHUDUWAI area, on Friday . Five terrorists were also reported injured during a confrontation in the area of KIRIBBANWEWA, WELIOYA on the same day (25) , In NORTH KIBBANWEWA a soldier was also reported injured during operations on the same day (25). Two terrorists were also reported killed ruing a confrontation in the area of NORTH KIRIBBANWEWA AREA on Friday (25).

Three incidents were reported from the area of PUTTANKULAM in the WELIOYA area on Friday (25). A soldier was reported injured due to anti- personnel mine explosion during operations while four terrorists were reported injured on the same day (25), just before first light while another two terrorists were injured during confrontations.

175 anti-personnel Mines were recovered by the Army in search operations conducted throughout Friday (25) from the WELIOYA area.
