posted by Editor at 10:02 AMThe Chinese government decides to expand investment opportunities in Sri Lanka. Governor of the Xijan province in China Shon Shan says this decision was taken since the Sri Lankan government has been able to create a peaceful environment in the country.
Mr. Shan expressed these views when he met Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickremanayake at his office today. There is a higher demand for Sri Lankan tea in the Chinese market. The visiting Chinese government also said that his government is interested in promoting tea and canned fish industries in Sri Lanka.
He invited the Buddhists in Sri Lanka to visit ancient Buddhist temples situated in the Xijan province. Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Wickremanayake said the government adopted a steady policy to defeat terrorism and create peace in the country.
He said the government has planned to obtain the assistance of super economic powers such as China for the development of the country.
