Irratteperiyakulam Police arrest UNDP worker with micro- pistol & accessories

The IRRATTEPERIYAKULAM Police, VAVUNIYA manning the IRRATTEPERIYAKULAM road block checked a private bus proceeding from VAVUNIYA towards MEDAWACHCHIYA in the afternoon on Wednesday (30).

A UNDP worker under the World Food Program with the Identity card in English " UND55067" when checked had with him a micro- pistol, an empty magazine , a CD player(Walkman) with five CD's a mobile telephone and Rupees 36610/.

The suspect had stated that he was employed at the KILLINOCHCHI UN office at the time of arrest.

VAVUNIYA Police are conducting investigations.
