Police to arrest 22 JVPers over car thefts

The Police would arrest 22 JVP members in connection with the robbery of three vehicles owned by parliamentarians who had aligned themselves with JVP parliamentary group leader and propaganda secretary Wimal Weerawansa and additional security would be given to the dissident JVP parliamentarians who were under threat, police said .
Chief Inspector Tusitha Kumara of the Chilaw Police said 20 JVP members of the Chilaw area were to be arrested. The police had requested them to surrender to the Chilaw police station.
Police also said that two other JVP members were wanted in connection with the robberies at Parliament.
