Postal voting in satisfactory level - says Election Commissioner
posted by Editor at 2:11 AMThe Assistant Election Commissioners of relevant districts say postal voting in the Eastern Provincial Council Election was at an extremely satisfactory level. In the Batticaloa District it was around 80 per cent and 90 per cent in the Trincomalee District.
No violent act was reported during two days of postal voting. Executive Director of the PAFFERAL Organization Kingsley Rodrigo says observation report of the Organization conducted on Postal Voting will be released tomorrow.
Commissioner General of Elections Dayananda Dissanayake says it is compulsory to establish voter identity at the Eastern Provincial Council Election. The voters are required to present their official poll card along with the National Identity Card or any other form of valid identity such as Passport, Drivers’ Licence.
