Private sector plan to invest in the Eastern Province

A number of large scale companies have expressed willingness to invest in the eastern province . Many factories and industries will be started creating direct and indirect job opportunities for the residents in the province.
A coal power plant is also scheduled to be constructed in Sampoor. The people in the area are happy because many ministers and senior public officials constantly visit the province and supervise all development programmes.Meanwhile the public in the eastern province express gratitude to the government for the rapid development programmes implemented in the area following the liberation of the province by the LTTE grip.
Measures have been taken to enhance infrastructure facilities, including roads development, drinking water facilities, sanitary and electrification schemes. They commend the government for benefiting all the public in the province disregarding ethnicity or any difference . Measures have been taken to upgrade transport services in the province.
Government has also stepped up security in the area. The public remind that they enjoy all these benefits after the government’s humanitarian mission that was launched from Mavilaru last year. They expressed gratitude to the president and the government for creating peaceful and secured environment in the eastern province.
They also hope that the government will liberate the northern province by the grip of the tiger terrorists and unite the country under one umbrella.
