Singaporean company to construct a modern town with 15 thousand housing units

A Singaporean company has come forward to construct a modern town with 15 thousand housing units in the Kalutara district. The project also consists of a hospital, school, university, supermarket complex and other facilities. Minister Rajitha Senarathne says in a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday the government’s aim is to increase building constructions in the country by 15 percent.
He adds that several Chinese and Russian companies have also expressed willingness to construct 100 thousand houses in the country.
