Troops attack LTTE strongholds

The security forces have started launching heavy attacks on several LTTE strongholds in Mannar.
The troops say the attacks are being carried out since early this morning. The forces have gone forward from their original positions in Parayakulam, Karakkulam and Karttankulam to launch heavy attacks on the terrorists. The troops intercepting the enemy communication confirmed that 11 terrorists were killed and more than 20 were injured by this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the troops attacked a LTTE base named One White in Mannar killing over 40 terrorists. The LTTE shelled to the Siripura area in Welioya where the civilians are living. One person was injured in the attack.
