UNP’s May Day events replaced by religious ceremonies
posted by Editor at 9:35 AMThe United National Party has decided to refrain from holding rallies or processions on May Day, in view of the prevailing security situation in the country.
Accordingly, the UNP has cancelled its public events planned in Kurunegala.
Instead, it will hold religious observances on May 01st.
The Buddhist event will take place at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, while the venues for the other religious ceremonies are to be decided in due course.
