Vehicle theft: two JVPers surrender

The two JVPers who allegedly drove away the stolen vehicles in last week’s controversial vehicle robbery within the Parliament grounds, surrendered to the Welikada police, yesterday, through their attorney.
The two persons, reportedly party members from Balagolla and Kirulapona, had allegedly helped to rob the vehicles of two dissident JVP MPs who had left the party with its former propaganda secretary Wimal Weerawansa.
OIC Welikada Police, CI Neville de Silva, told Daily Mirror yesterday that the two suspects would be produced in court today.
JVP Trincomalee District MP Jayantha Wijesekara surrendered to the Welikada Police last week, and was remanded in connection with the incident.
