World religious representatives convene in Kandy

World religious representatives convene in Kandy tomorrow to form the inter-religious council of Sri Lanka. The representatives will meet under the theme “religion for peace”.
The representatives include the Sanganayake of Cambodia most venerable Tep Wong Thero, a Bishop of Norway Reverent Guthar J. Stalset and Chairman of the Mohamadia Muslim Organisation in Indonesia Dr. Deen Samsudeen.

The Maha Nayakes of the Malwathu, Asgiri, Amarapura and Ramanya chapters and also Hindu, Muslim and Catholic religious leaders from Sri Lanka will attend the summit. Sri Lanka Director of the summit Kingsley Rodrigo said the meeting at the Kandy Governor’s Conference Hall will be attended by representatives from 70 countries.
