Army snipers gunned down one LTTE cadre; Soldier injured in Mortar fire- Mannar

Military reports received so far on the Mannar battlefront for the day (May 11), indicate that one terrorist was killed by an Army sniper deployed in the Karunkandal area around 5.55 pm.

Also, one soldier suffered injuries due to LTTE mortar fire directed at Nadunkandal army deployment around 12.55 in the afternoon.

Troops engaged in clearing operation in the Alankulama area removed 22 anti personnel mines (AP) and 2 trapped bombs. Also, 2 hand grenades were found during these operations.
