Measures will be taken to rapidly develop the areas in the north

Minister Nation Building S.M. Chandrasena says that measures will be taken to rapidly develop the areas in the north which are being liberated by humanitarian operations against the LTTE.
The development process is carried out under the programmes of Jathika Saviya and Maga Neguma. At a media briefing held today he said that 400 million rupees have been allocated in developing activities in Vavuniya district.
Attention will be paid to enhance the basic needs of roads, education, health and houses. Financial allocations have been made to construct bunkers in Athawatunuwewa, Janakapura, and Kalyanapura. At present 248 bunkers have already been constructed in Athawatuwewa area.
