75% SAARC confab fund for security

More than 75 percent of the Rs 2.88 billion budget for the forthcoming SAARC summit has been allocated to the police department for security, authoritative sources said.
A supplementary estimate will be presented in parliament on July 8 to secure funds for the SAARC summit. A large sum of money is expected to be spent on buying new luxury vehicles to transport delegates.
According to sources, the foreign ministry will be given 11.95 percent of the budget with which they would have to meet accommodation, conference, decoration and other costs. A massive 75.2 percent of the budget will go to the police department for security.
