Eastern PC Batti Polls petition respondents issued notice

Court of Appeal yesterday (17) directed the Registrar of the Court to issue notices on the respondents when the election petition challenging the Eastern Provincial Council election held in the Batticaloa district, returnable on July 14.

Notices were issued on Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillaiyan, A.S.Javahir Salih, A.M.Hisbullah, Commissioner of Elections Dayananda Dissanayake, Returning Officer Batticaloa District S.Arumainayagam, Minister of Disaster Relief Services Ameer Ali Police OICs of Kattankudy and Valaichenai and 11 other respondents.
