Former Chief Ministers will contest forthcoming PC election as CM candidates

Former chief ministers Berty Premalal Dissanayake and Mahipala Herath will be nominated by the UPFA as its chief minister candidates of the north central and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
United People’s Freedom Alliance said nomination boards are operating to select candidates to compete the list of candidates for the forthcoming Provincial Election.
Meanwhile Election Department said accepting of nominations for the North central and Sabaragamuwa provincial council elections will commence from Friday. The nominations can be submitted at the district secretariat offices till the noon of fourth of next month. Nominations are also accepted during the weekends. The time period for independent groups to deposit sureties for the election will conclude from the noon of 3rd of next month. Date of elections will be declared after nominations are accepted.
