Fuel price hike is not a problem only in Sri Lanka

Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says the fuel price hike is not a problem only in Sri Lanka.
He said even in oil producing countries it is a problem. He stated this at a press conference held at the ministry of finance to respond to false allegations pertaining to the petroleum hike.
He said by looking at the issue through a political angle the public cannot correctly comprehend the issue.
Minister Siyambalapitiya said if the UNP’s fuel price formula continued the present price of a litre of petrol would be 189 rupees and 47 cents while a litre of a diesel would be 169 rupees and 60 cents. He pointed out that solutions to fuel price increase cannot be found by acts such as putting up posters but by facing the issue as a nation.s The minister stressed that the government’s policy is to minimize the burden on the people as much as possible.
