A general strike in the offing demanding Rs. 5000.00 pay hike

A general strike has been planned any time after the 16th June, if the Government failed to grant the pay hike demand of Rs. 5000.00 to all sector employees by that date.
JVP Trade Union Leader and M.P. LalKantha told a Media conference that all ground work has been done to launch the strike without warning, if the Government does not respond to their demand before the expiry of the deadline already notified to the Government.
