Government plans to create a discipline society

Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickremanayake says the anti narcotics act was implemented with the objective of creating a discipline society.
Due to this Act the government looses millions of rupees in annual revenue. The premier stated this at a function held at his office on Monday to present prizes to the winners of an art, essay and speech competition organized in view of world anti tobacco day. The aim of the competition was to educate school children in order to wipe out smoking from the country.
The premier stressed that minimizing the use of alcohol and narcotics cannot be done through acts alone but needs the contribution of all parties.
