Hakeem blames Muslim ministers

SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem last night said some thugs allegedly brought by two government Muslim Ministers burnt tyres and tried to block them from attending the two public meetings arranged in the Puttalam area yesterday.
After the meeting, Mr. Hakeem said these two Ministers were petrified, and therefore did not want the want people to hear the true situation in the country.
“But, people braved the situation and attended the meetings. There was a massive crowd at both meetings. These Ministers can do whatever they want, only with the government’s sponsorship. This is the same thing they did to Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe when he was on his way to Parliament on Thursday,” he said stressing that this was only a public gimmick by these elements, and it would never deter them from countering what he described as this ‘dictatorial government’.
“We had organized these two meetings to educate the people about the current political situation in the country. We found our way to the meeting,” he said.
He said that they had to explain the treachery of these two Ministers, which had put the entire community in danger, merely because of their hunger for power.
