Investment Opportunities in Ocean Resources

Chamber of Construction Industry will host a seminar on Management of Ocean Resources which will be held on 24th June 2008 at Hotel Galadari.

This much awaited seminar will be inaugurated by Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion.

The seminar will focus attention on vast potential for optimum utilization of ocean resources in Sri Lanka.

Dr Hiran Jayewardene, Secretary General of Indian Ocean Marine Affairs Corporation will make a presentation on Sri Lanka’s Ocean Territory and it s Potential.

Dr. Neil de Silva, Director General of Petroleum Development Secretariat will enlighten the participants on the Exploitation of Sri Lanka’s Offshore Oil and Gas Resources – potential and opportunities.

Dr. N.P. Wijayananda, the present Chairman of Geological Surveys and Mines Bureau is expected to deal at length on Offshore Mineral Resources.

This is an ideal opportunity for the foreign investors, members of the Diplomatic Missions and those who are looking for new investment opportunities to learn about the vast potential for exploitation of Marine Resources of Sri Lanka

The seminar is expected to provide a broad overview. Incidentally Chamber of Construction Industry was in the forefront of advocating offshore sand as an alternative to river sand for construction purposes.
