PNM used for NFF activities: Ven Dambara Amila files objection

Ven. Dambara Amila Thera and a group from the Patriotic National Movement (PNM) complained the break-away group from Janatha Vimukthi Peremuna (JVP) was trying to use PNM for the activities of their party National Freedom Front (NFF), formed by Wimal Weerawansa.
Ven. Dambara Amila Thera and a group of executive committee members objecting to a case filed by the Chairman of PNM, Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekara, said the General Secretary of PNM, who broke away from JVP has formed a new political party and PNM and its office was being arbitrarily used for the political achievement. In their objection the defendants further said a large number of members of the movement objected that it was used for politics and requested that the PNM be used only for the specific objectives for which it was formed.
