President urged to remove CEB Chairman
posted by Editor at 10:07 AMThe CEB Engineers’ union reiterated its call for the removal of CEB Chairman Udayasiri Kariyawasam, when President Mahinda Rajapaksa met a delegation to discuss how to resolve the ongoing protest campaign. The engineers have threatened to disrupt regular operations unless the government replaces the Chairman with a person qualified to head the public enterprise.
A spokesman said the delegation had explained the difficulty in working with Kariyawasam, who had repeatedly clashed with engineers and other unions. Well informed sources said the President had pledged to resolve the issue.
