SLAF launches another attack to Periyamadhu

The Air Force has launched an extensive attack on and LTTE target in Periyamadu , Vavuniya this morning with the use of Mig 27 fighter jets.
Media Spokesman of the air force Wing commander Janaka Nanayakkara said the attack was centered on an operational center of terrorists located three kms South west of the Periyamadu lake.

The air force also attacked four LTTE targets yesterday, which included three artillery centers and a sea Tiger camp. It has been confirmed that these centers were destroyed in the attacks.

Meanwhile the special task force has found three kilos of high powered explosives and five electric detonators in the Wallawatta area. In addition, a micro pistol and a magazine were also discovered . The defence ministry says these items were found hidden in a communication centre in the area.
